June/July
June and July were also busy months with 2
weeks holiday in July for the end of Term 2.
We are all still making awesome progress in
Reading, Maths, Story-writing and Inquiry.
Some students have gone up several levels
in Reading
and they, and others, moved up stages in
Maths and Writing as well.
In Inquiry we are learning about the
Olympic Games in Rio in Term 3.
We loved our Inquiry about Flight and
learnt a lot.
We always have some great questions to find
out about in our wonderings.
We have fun finding out the information.
As usual we are busy with Fitness and Kiwi
Can skills and games with Whaea Cass and Matua Rocky.
We also have Kapa Haka with Whaea Manaea
and Matua Justin on Thursday mornings.
We like Grandparent’s reading with the
Rotary Grandparents every Friday.
We just had a Duffy Theatre performance
about Time Travel and got our Duffy books for the Term. It was great fun.
We also had lots of learning with our class
buddies and our school buddies too.
We had Irene Van Dyke a famous NZ Netballer
come to speak to us. She was very tall (6ft 3 inches).
She gave us all a bag from Netball Hawkes
Bay and some balls for our PE gear.
Paora came from the Council to help us set
up a new worm garden. We got to hold the worms. They were slimy.
We also had Todd and Nathan from the Army
come and teach us how to march and do push ups.
We are Miharo too.We are awesome
