Welcome Back to Term 4

Well only 3 days holiday to go.Hope you all had a "sweet as " time and kept safe. Welcome back to a new bike track round the field. How fast can you go around it? JR and Whaea Joy have already been zooming around it, along with others too.We have some bikes already and new ones coming. Also lots of rennovations happening. Another busy term ahead. Lots happening and lots to do. See you all soon.

Miharo is awesome

Well the disco was fun and everyone dressed up for the Book character day. Who would think of the staff as Captain Underpants, Tinkerbell, a professor from Harry Potter, an angel,Where's Wally and Druscilla amongst others. Lots of children won prizes of books for some amazing outfits. The production at the St Aubyn Street Theatre was amazing. Pohutukawa was presented to a packed house and the kids were FANTASTIC.
What's on next week?? Why we are off to the mountain (Whakapapa) to see and play in the snow.Boogie boards here we come!!!

Production, Disco, Fun Day etc

We have lots of activities coming up.
The school is going to do a production later this term. This week we have a Fun day and a Fancy Dress Day Friday. That is after the Disco Thursday night. We have lots of other activities and maybe a trip planned this term. Keep watching.

Well Miharo are visiting the Transfer station as part of our Inquiry.(23/8/11) The children have lots of questions that they want answers to about rubbish and recycling and our environment.We have also found lots of answers to some of our questions on the internet.I see we have watchers from all around the world Taiwan, Canada, UK, Australia,USA and Russia as well as many from all around NZ.Welcome to our news blog. Come along to Riverslea school and see our Murals when they go up on the school walls.One has lots of faces on. We have each done one and put our name on it. They look sweet as.
Our other mural is bright and colourful. We drew lots of things that we wanted to.MoeHarleen drew a rainbow. Kororia drew a house. Tamara put a mailbox outside it and Claude a tractor.PriscillaRoze and Skyla drew butterflies. Whaea Christie drew some koru patterns and Whaea Joy some birds, when they visited Room 4.We still have lots of things to draw on it.

Having fun

Hi
Miharo are having lots of fun at the moment.
Before we begin our next Inquiry learning on Papatuanuku,
the land and the environment around us ,
we are involved in an Art week.
We also have been busy with sports and visiting the Hastings Public
library, as well as having the Duffy Theatre visting our school recently.
Our 'Bike on' project is getting closer with nearly 1/3 of the money
raised so far.($9,000)
Also thanks to some senior students in Kotahi (Room 1) we have new road
signs pointing the way to Riverslea school. A new front sign will be here
soon.
We don't just sit back, we make it happen.
Riverslea school is cool.

Miharo have made posters to let people know that Riverslea school is awesome, sweet as and cool. We have put them all around shops and businesses. Look out for them if you live around here.Come and visit us any time. You are welcome.
They are at Macs Fish, Beatty Street shop,E.I.T, Mahora Pharmacy, Duke Street Fish and chips,Countdown, Hastings City Marketing (outside Farmers),Lantern Light Dairy ( Kool's shop),Wendys and the Hastings Library. 3 to go so keep looking.
